To submit information for the community calendar click here

The community calendar is a no charge service for special events for legal non-profit organizations.  Information must be submitted in writing, at least 3 weeks before the event.  The radio stations reserve the right to edit and/or decline information submitted to the community calendar. Because of FCC rules, we are not able to include fund raising activities on air but they can be considered for our website calendar.
August 18
First Baptist Church in Petrolia, Ontario is putting on Bible Summer Splash which starts with a free family BBQ on August 18th at 5 pm. There will be stories, songs crafts and fun for kids ages 5-12 years old. For more information call First Baptist Church in Petrolia Ontario.

August 18-19
The Applegate Wesleyan Church will be having a yard sale and raffle on August 18th and 19th at the Church Hall from 9 am to 5 pm. For more information on this event, you can call the Applegate Wesleyan Church.

August 19
Trinity Missionary Church in Yale invites everyone to their "Fun In The Son" all day family fun day on Saturday, August 19th from 9 am to 8 pm.  Events during the day will include a Bike Parade, dunk tank, bounce house, candy scramble, a Praise band, face painting, volleyball, horseshoes, snacks and food and much more.   For information or a schedule of events you can call Jerry at 810.304.4547.

August 20

On August 20th there is a Pig Roast at St. John's Lutheran Church in Capac. This will take place from noon to 2 pm at 109 E. Kepf Ct., Capac. For more information call Mary Nahernak at 810.395.7557.

There is a free family festival in downtown Lapeer on August 20th. It's worship music that will take place on the main stage of the Lapeer festival at noon. For more information, contact Neda Payne at neda@lapeerareachamber.org.

August 24
The MSU Extension is having a Master Gardener Volunteer course in Lapeer anyone in Michigan's Thumb Area.  The class will run for 15 weeks starting on August 24th, on Thursday evenings from 5-9 pm at the Heritage Church Imlay City Campus.  Applications for the class can be made online at www.muse.anr.mus.edu or you can call 989-751-0230.

August 21-25
Southwestern Ontario is having a Forest Cliff Day Camp on August 21-25 from 9 am to 4:30 pm each day. This camp is for kids who've completed Kindergarten through 5th grade. The 20th Annual Lloyd Severance Thumb Gospel Music Convention will be August 24-27 at the Bay Shore Camp in Sebewaing.  Thursday's concert begins at 6:30 pm featuring "The Sound" and "The Hoppers", Friday's concert also at 6:30 will feature Dennis Gwizdala, Souls Harbor and Keepers of the Faith.  Saturday's schedule runs all day beginning at 10 am with the FInale concert that evening featuring "Greater Vision" and "The Mark Trammell Quartet".  A Sunday worship service featuring "The Foresters" will beging at 10 am.  Admission is free and a free will offering will be taken to benefit the camp.  For information you can call 989;883.2501 or visit www.thumbgospelmusic.org
August 21-Sept 1
The St Clair County Health Dept is offering free vision and hearing screening for any child entering preschool or kindergarten in the fall.  Screenings will take place Mondays from 10 am-2 pm and 3-6 pm.  Tuesday through Friday from 8 am - 12 pm and 1-4 pm.  Appointments are available, walk-ins will be accepted.  The Health Dept is located at 3415 28th Street in Port Huron.  For information you can call 810.987.5300.

August 23
Recording artist and world touring performer Calvin Taylor will be appearing in a live concert of sacred piano music at the Bluewater Adventist Church on Wednesday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. This is a free concert. August 26
No Olympian Left Behind is an evening of entertainment benefiting The Special Olympics of Michigan Area 10 Athletes. Tickets are $15.00 which included dinner, dessert and pop. There will be a 50/50 raffle, brown bag auction and bake sale as well as music to enjoy. August 27
Jim Hendricks, Professor of Music at Chicago State University, will be in concert at Immanuel Lutheran Church on August 27th from 4 to 5:30 pm. There is no admission charge but a free-will offering will be taken. Hendricks is best known for his recordings of classic tunes which he has arranged in the styles of Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson. August 30
On August 30th Colonial Woods Missionary Church invites you to their Dory on the Lawn Block Party 2.0. Join Colonial Woods for hot dogs, cotton candy, and drinks. There will be games, inflatables, and a lot of fun from 6:30 to 8 pm. Then around 8:20, settle down with some popcorn. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket to watch Finding Dory on the big screen!  This is a free event so bring your family and friends. This event takes place at Colonial Woods Missionary Church is located at 3240 Pine Grove in Port Huron.
September 5
The Women's Chorus of The Port Huron Musicale will begin rehearsals for their Christmas concert series on Tuesday, September 5, 6:30-8:30 pm, at the Council on Aging building, 600 Grand River Avenue in Port Huron. Musicale dues are $25 annually, plus $10 annually for use of the Council on Aging building. They are a four-part harmony chorus for women of ALL ages! September 6
Lake Huron Medical Center is offering "A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerts About Falls" program.  Many older adults develop a fear of falling and find themselves limiting their activities.  This 8 week class begins on Wednesday, September 6th and will help participants learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance, assess fall risk factors and make their environment safer.  The class is free, registration is required and participants must plan to attend all 8 classes.   For information you can call Rosemary at 810.216.1035 or visit www.mylakehuron.com

September 9

On Saturday, September 9th, at 9 am, the Blue Water Pregnancy Care Center invites the community to participate in the 20th Annual Walk For Life. All proceeds from the fundraising event will be used by the center to provide free services to our community’s moms, babies, and dads. Walkers should register no later than Sept. 1, so they have time to ask for pledges. On August 9th the 1st Annual Blue Water Co-Ed Recovery Softball Tournament sponsored by Operation Transformation and Blue Water Area Church will take place at 7:30 at Port Huron's Knox Field. Come out and show your support for our local recovery community as they welcome teams in recovery from around the state. Come bring family, have a hot dog, and root for our home team.

Widowed Care a support group for those who have lost a spouse through death begins on Monday, September 11th at 7 pm at Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron.  The group will meet for Monday evenings for 10 sessions.  For information you can call Debbie at 810.984.5575.

September 14
Trauma Recovery Group is a group for those who personally experienced a trauma or frightening event, those who witnessed the event, or those who picked up the pieces afterwards. It will take place beginning on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6:30 to 8 pm, and will run for 8 weeks at Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center. September 14-16
Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church in Emmett is holding their 23rd annual "Junque & Treasures Sale" on September 14th and 15th from 9 am to 7 pm and September 16th from 9 am to 12 noon.  If you would like to donate something for the sale,  you can drop that off at the church on September 9th or 12th from 10 am to 4 pm.  The church is located at 10828 Barndon Rd in Emmett.  For information you can call 810.384.1786.

Sturges Memorial Church will be holding an Installation service for their new Pastor, Rev Dr Patrick Thompson on Sunday, September 16th at 3 pm.  Refreshments will be serviced following the service.  The church is located at 2729 Ravenswood in Port Huron.
September 18
GriefShare, a support group for those who are grieving the loss due to death.  A GriefShare group will start meeting on September 18th at 7 pm at the Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center.  The group can be joined at any time.  For information you can call Debbie at 810.984.6675.

Men come join Marysville Assembly for a night themed around the great outdoors. There will be a chili cook-off & a special guest speaker: Jimmy Gretzinger from TV program “Michigan Out of Doors!”  This event takes place on September 29th at 6:30 pm. September 30
St. Clair County Down Syndrome Group's Annual Buddy Walk is on September 30th at 11 am. The one mile walk starts at the gazebo in Pine Grove Park and goes to the Blue Water Bridge and back. The purpose of the Buddy Walk is to promote acceptance, awareness, and inclusion for individuals with Down Syndrome in our community. Everyone is welcome and T-shirts are available on a first come-first serve basis until supplies last. There is no registration fee for the walk; however, donations are appreciated. October
The Lambton Youth Choir is accepting new members (grade 4 and up) to join in October 2017.  There are weekly rehearsals and opportunities to perform in public.  The group meets on Wednesday nights from 6:15-8:30 pm at LCCVI in Petolia.  For information you can call 519.882.2315.
