Community Events

To submit information for the community calendar, e-mail calendar@wnradio.com , fax 1.810.985.7712, or send your information in the mail to 2865 Maywood Drive, Port Huron, MI  48060.

The community calendar is a no charge service for special events for legal non-profit organizations.  Information must be submitted in writing, at least 3 weeks before the event.  The radio stations reserve the right to edit and/or decline information submitted to the community calendar.   Because of FCC rules, we are not able to include fund raising activities on air but can be considered for our website calendar.

July 30 
The Senior Center invites Seniors to a free 1 hour seminar by Healthy Steps on July 30th at 10:00 am. The seminar is designed to provide basic education about proper foot diabetes care. You may RSVP by calling 810.984.5061

July 31 
Youth For Christ is hosting a Redneck Olympics on July 31st from 6:00- 8:00 pm. The event will include Food, Toilet Seat Horseshoes, Water Balloon Volleyball, and more! The event is open to all Junior and Senior high students and will be held at the Hillside Family Life Center. Students are encouraged to wear their best redneck outfit for a chance to win! 

August 2

Griswold Street Baptist Church is having a Back to School Clothing Giveaway. They will be giving out gently used children's clothing and school supplies. The giveaway is on August 2nd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. They are also still collecting gently used clothing and school supplies for the giveaway. 

The Richmond Community Baptist Church will be putting on a "Free Family Fun Fest" for the whole community on Saturday August 2nd from 2:00- 8:00 pm. There will be a bounce house, games and a Pig Roast. A concert featuring Veracity and other artists will be from 4:00- 8:00 pm. 

Philip Brandt, representing The Society For Financial Awareness, will speak at the First Baptist Church in Bad Axe on Saturday August 2nd at 6:00 pm and again on Sunday at 10:00 am. The topic is "How you can get fiscally fit" and will cover subjects on managing debt, maximizing Social Security benefits, and other areas of financial information. Everyone is invited to this free service. 


August 3
The Forest Baptist Church welcomes the Lindley Creek Bluegrass in an outdoor concert in Forest, Ontario on Sunday August 3rd. There will be a barbecue starting at 5:30 pm and the concert starting at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

August 3-7
The Lexington Community Churches are hosting "Bible Times Market Place" from August 3rd-7th from 5:45 pm to 8:00 pm at the Lexington United Methodist Church. All 4 year olds through 8th grade are welcome. Participating Churches include: Lexington United Methodist Church, Trinity Episcopal and Ave Maria Catholic Church. August 4-7 
Wadhams Baptist Church will be hosting their 'Basic Elements' Vacation Bible School on August 4th-7th from 6:00-8:15 pm with registration beginning at 5:30.

Heritage United Methodist Church in Snover is having a "Kingdom Rock" Vacation Bible School on August 4th-7th starting at 6:00 pm. Kids will learn how to stand strong for God and all kids ages preschool through 5th grade are welcome. 





August 4-8
The Countryside Christian Church is having their "Raindrops to Rainbows" Vacation Bible School on August 4th-8th from 6:00-8:00 pm. For more information you may call Pastor Kraig at 810.858.7026

August 5
August 5th is the National Night Out event. Night Out is designed to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness, generate support, and strengthen neighborhoods and send a message to criminals that we are fighting back. Anytime between 1-10 pm residents are asked to turn outside lights on and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. New Life Christian Academy is hosting an Open House for prospective students and families in the greater Blue Water Area on Tuesday August 5th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Families are encouraged to visit the school, meet the teachers, view the curriculum, textbooks, and extra-curricular opportunities. Food Preservation Classes will be held on August 5th from 12:30- 2:00 pm at the Vantage Point Farm Market. Learn safe preserving techniques and valuable resources to ensure the safety of your home preserved food.

Everyone is welcome to join Port Huron First United Methodist Church for National Night out from 6:00- 8:00 pm on Tuesday August 5th. Auditions for the St. Clair County Community Mental Health winter production will be held on Thursday, August 7th, from 3:00- 6:00 pm at the St. Clair County Community Mental Health's Port Huron office. The Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation invites you to attend the fifth annual Total Tune Up men's health fair and classic car/ tractor show. The event will take place on August 7th from 6:00- 8:00 pm behind the Kraft Service Center in Marlette.

August 7-9 
"Once Upon A Treasure" St. Nicholas Annual Rummage Sale will be held on August 7th, 8th, and 9th. Thursday and Friday the sale will be from 9:00 am- 6:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am- Noon. The sale will be held at St. Nicholas Church in Capac.

August 8
Trinity Lutheran School is hosting a "Chasing The Sun" 5K Run on Friday, August 8 at 8 pm at the Fort Gratiot Trail behind Meijer in Fort Gratiot.  All proceeds will benefit the school's scholarship fund.  Day of registration starts at 6:30 pm.  For information you can email erinwilkins@hotmail.com  

Griswold Street Baptist Church will have an outdoor showing of the movie God's Not Dead in the church parking lot on August 8th at 9:00 pm. There will be popcorn, but be sure to bring chairs and blankets.

August 9
Faith Fest 2014 will be Saturday, August 9th from 10:30 am to 10 pm in Kingston.  This free family Musical festival will include a lot of music including feature headliner band, Matt Moore Band and Speaker, Trevor Heyd.  A Kids Zone with inflatables and laser tag will also be on the festival grounds.  For information you can visit their website at faithfestkingston.com

August 9-14
Hillside Wesleyan Church invites kids ages 4 years old through 5th grade and families to join them for "Wilderness Escape"- Where God guides and provides. The Stand Strength Team will be at the Heritage United Methodist Church in Snover on August 17th at 10:40 am and again at 6:00 pm. The church is located at 3329 Snover Road in Snover Michigan. 

The Lexington Southern Gospel Concert Committee presents "The Allen Family" in concert at the Lexington United Methodist Church on August 17th at 6:00 pm. There is no charge for the concert but a free will offering will be taken.

August 18-22

Relevant Community Church in Marine City is hosting a free movie night of Gods Not Dead at the St. Clair boardwalk on August 29th and again in Marine City at the Nautical Mile Park on August 30th. Both showings will begin at dusk.

August 26

Trinity Anglican Church in Sarnia is hosting ALPHA on every Tuesday from 6:00- 9:00 pm starting September 16th and ending November 4th. ALPHA is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith, brush up on the basics of the faith or introduce a friend to Christianity. There is no fee for ALPHA but you must register by sending an email to trinity@trinity.sarnia.net or register online at trinity.sarnia.net. September 22
Bethel Pentecostal Church in Sarnia is offering an ALPHA course to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, friendly, fun, non-threatening setting. DivorceCare classes will begin on Monday September 29th at 6:30 pm at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Sarnia. The program runs for 13 weeks and is open to anyone who is
